How 1EdTech Members Power Learner Potential
The state of North Dakota uploads its academic standards to the CASE® Network by 1EdTech, making it easier for the state’s partners to access the information and work alongside the district to meet learner needs. Through CASE, organizations can see the knowledge and skills a learner needs to achieve to earn a digital badge, increasing the value of the accomplishment. The state is also working to connect the standards to higher education institutions, to help learners better understand what courses they do and do not need to take as they continue their education.
“The CASE Network enhances digital credentials by allowing linked data within the credential to interrogate the competency and skills framework defined for the credential. Course standards and objectives provide the vital link to the workforce and employers adopting skills-based hiring.”
The state of North Dakota was the first to launch a digital credential publishing application for high schoolers, and empowers residents of all ages to share their skills with potential employers and learning institutions. Working within the 1EdTech community helped the state create the digital wallet that gives learners access and control over their information so they may share it with whomever, and whenever they want. It also keeps leaders in the conversation as the community continues to evolve open, trusted, and verifiable credentials that will hold meaning across educational institutions, states, and industries.
“1EdTech’s open standards allow us to issue digital credentials to our learners, including badges and Comprehensive Learner Records (CLRs), in internationally accepted formats, that can be used across multiple industries and institutions.”
